Lupus A4: Saturday Morning

When Reno woke up on Saturday morning, he noticed four things.

First, that the alcove was very, very large around him.

Second, that he was made of plastic.

Third, that he was still desperate for a smoke, despite the fact that he was an action figure, and the nicotine gum he'd handwavily picked up was now the same size as his face.

And fourth, that there seemed to be a good deal of whinnying going on throughout the campgrounds.

Therefore, Reno made the executive decision to stay in bed.

"I hate this freakin' island," he mumbled as he crawled under his pillow.

[I couldn't resist, if only for the chance to use this OOC icon of mine IC. Reno's an action figure, and probably will be for a couple of days, but if you want to harass him now, bear in mind that I work tonight, and we're looking at crazy slowplay for the day.]

"Nope," came Reno's muffled reply from under his pillow. "Not a pony. Should I be?"

He was made of plastic. His pants were part of his body. There was no freaking way he was coming out.

"I am!" Rikku cantered into the room, prancing and shaking her mane. "And I'm cute."

She was, too. Check her out!

"Hey, where are you?" He was huge, he should be hard to miss.

... His girlfriend was a pony.

He freaking hated this freaking island.

Reno crawled out from under the pillow. Fine. They could swap humiliation and dammit he needed a smoke but his freaking hands would probably melt and everything sucked a hell of a lot dammit.

"Up on the bed," he replied. And then proceeded to peer over the edge, trying to figure out where in the world she was.

"I don't seeeeeeeeeee you," she called out. Shaking her mane was fun, she was gonna do it again. "Your bed is huge! Everything is huge today! 'Cause I'm tiny. And I have my mutiny outfit! Whenever I get weird I have my mutiny outfit. What's up with that?"

"Clearly, your mutiny outfit is weird," Reno decided. Okay. She was tiny, too. Which meant--

He decided that a jump down to the floor couldn't do too much harm. And so, he did. And his articulated joints bent in odd directions, but apparently they were made to do that, so everything was gravy. Really.

"Weird, but I ain't complaining." Pause. "When you ain't a pony, zoto."

Rikku stared. And stared.

"Are you ... plastic?!"

And then she rolled onto her pony back and kicked her pony legs in the air and howled.

Because. Dude. Seriously. ............. Dude.

Reno crossed his arms and scowled. It was fortunate that his arms were well-articulated, with those swivelly-bits and ball-joints and he was going to stop thinking about that, now. Because... He just was.

"I'm an action figure, zoto," he snapped. "Poseable, highly detailed, and I ain't actually got a body between my hips and my chest under this shirt."

This was worth mentioning, as this discovery had pretty much scarred him for life.

"But at least I ain't a horse."

"I'm a pony," she insisted, rolling back to her feet and tossing her mane. "Oh my gosh, is your hair plastic? I mean, mine's all pretty and curly and yours is, like, stuck on. What's the difference between 'action figure' and 'doll'?"

"Action figures got plastic hair, and dolls don't."

That probably wasn't the only difference. Or even the difference, period. But thinking of himself as a doll made him want to find out how long it would take him to hike off into the woods never to be seen again. So he was going to be an action figure damn it.

"And you're a freakin' horse."

"My hair's way better than yours," she sighed. It was, it was shiny and required another tossing. "And I'm a pony. And you haven't mentioned how cute I am. Do you really not have a body under there? Dude. Weeeeeeird."

"You're adorable, yeah, yeah. I miss having an abdomen, zoto." This was all delivered quite dryly, really, as he grabbed his shirt- or, at least, the scrap of soft, molded plastic that made the front third of his shirt, as apparently the rest wasn't necessary with his molded plastic jacket covering the place where it ought to be, and he lifted it.

See. No middle. Just another large balljoint. Which, granted, allowed him to bend over to pick things up and all, but was seriously weird nevertheless.
