29 Chimera Court, Saturday Evening

Ah, it was good to be back on the island. Sure, most of the faces were new. Again. And Reno had spent the better part of the day with his shades on while he adjusted to actual sunlight. Again. And he didn't technically have a place to stay. Yet.

That was what he was working on fixing now, his bag slung over his shoulder containing a ferret and anything that he could smuggle into the bag during the picnic that looked like Mako would enjoy it. Not that Reno had really been careful about smuggling the food in the first place. It was a picnic. Taking food was half the expectation, and what the hell was the school going to do with the leftovers?

He stopped in front of a decent looking place not far from the water, straightened the bag on his back, and considered it for a moment. The place looked occupied already, which would make it a challenge, sure. But if there was one thing Reno liked, it was a challenge. With a little 'heh' and a swagger in his step, he made his way up to the front door and tried the handle.

If this went to hell in a handbag in three seconds flat, at least it'd be a good time.

"I bet he'd be attracted to me if I had more meat on my bones," Reno said, smirking.

Because he couldn't not, either.

"I think you need to take some time and self-assess," Magnus said. "Maybe get your head right. Eat some vegan food. And stop taking your sexuality crisis out on this guy whose name I don't know."

Miguel facepalmed. "I am not having a sexuality crisis, thank you. And I'm not eating vegan. At the moment I'm not eating anything, because my dinner got interrupted by someone else saying there was a stripper at the door."

He waved at the new guy. "Reno, Magnus. See what I mean?"

"Magnus has a good head on his shoulders," Reno decided, reaching to the big guy for a handshake. "Yo, man. Mind if I move in?"

Sorry, Miguel.

If by 'good' Reno meant 'good-hearted', sure. If by 'good' he meant 'sensible', Miguel was hereby taking back his vote. They didn't need more than one insane person in the house.

Okay, no more than four insane people in one house. That was enough.

"Of course not! You can take the guy who claims he's a cop's room." Magnus no. No for so many reasons.

"I was thinkin' the room I was told is already empty," Reno mused, looking thoughtful. "There's a cop?"

Oh yeah, fuckin' with the fuzz. He'd made a great choice picking this house in particular.

"He says he's a cop, but I have my suspicions." Mostly because he liked the gag.

"Sketchy cops are the most fun, though," Reno noted, smirking.

Reno had strange ideas of fun.

Miguel pinched the bridge of his nose. "Guys, Liam is a decent guy. I have no idea what kind of a cop he is, but please mess with the troopers instead."

"I can multitask!"

He was probably not actually going to mess with Liam.

"Yeah?" Miguel said. "Can you mess with the troopers without their boss, your new roommate, ever finding out?" he challenged. "Be nice to him while messing with them?"

"I am both well aware that you're baiting me here and insulted that you just insinuated I can't," Reno noted. "You have something against strippers, man?"

He was forever going to roll with the stripper thing now.

"I have something against people messing with a nice roommate," Miguel said. "Whether he's a cop or a stripper or not. And that was the idea." He smirked. "Do it or I assume you can't."

Really, Reno wasn't sure whether he wanted to put that much effort into a dare. Could be fun? But, eh, he had nothing against the troopers.

Hell, he appreciated how useless they were.

"Well then, shit, maybe I can't. Guess I'll have to live with that."

There was no real benefit in giving the troopers a reason to stop being useless, either.

"Does that mean you won't mess with any of them, or you still plan on messing with Liam?" Miguel asked suspiciously.

"I ain't never said I was messin' with nobody," Reno pointed out. "Now you're jumpin' to conclusions. Probably because you hate strippers and skinny people, yo."

He had no problems messing with Miguel. He actually knew Miguel, now.

Miguel rolled his eyes. "Well if you don't piss off the guy you're not messing with, your room is the empty one. Keep your skinny stripper friends quiet if they visit."

"I might," Miguel allowed. "I'd definitely be more attracted if you were a woman. Neither changes the fact that you're skinny. And there's nothing wrong with that," he said pointedly at Magnus. "I'm just making an observation."
