"I'm friggin' bored," Reno announced, possibly to nobody in particular, possibly to the bowl of beans that he'd picked. "Bored bored bored."

The beans said nothing.

"You know how bored I am?"

The beans waited patiently for a reply.

"I'm so friggin' bored, I'm talkin' to string beans."

This was what happened when Reno got himself suspended from duty for two weeks.

Fear.

Rikku gasped for breath, but it came out in giggles. "I don't know if it'll work," she admitted. "I mean, I don't -- we can't fix everything just with, hey, let's sit down and talk, but the letter said that Yunie was gonna get pissed at anyone who didn't come, and not even bother with their demands, and the same goes for anyone who shows up and starts calling names or being rude. So ... so I think they're coming. I think we're actually gonna have everyone sit down for a couple of days and pretend they're grown-ups and not little kids throwing a tantrum."

Which was not going to solve everything -- hell, it may not solve anything, not for good. But it was a hell of a place to start.

"Daaaaamn. You gotta keep in touch, tell me how that's goin' as it's goin' down, okay? Sounds like somethin' huge, zoto."

It really, really did. Reno was damn proud of Rikku, right then.

"I will," she said. "I promise. I might have to call and scream during the middle of it if people are being stupid. I'm betting a few people are gonna be just bad enough that they piss me off, while being just short of where we can nail them and kick them out."

Some people were great at toeing that line.

"Beans. Missions. What's new with my favorite Turk?"

Oh, yeah. Reno had known his fair share of people who were skilled at that, too.

He tended to kick them in the face for it anyhow.

"I got a bowl of beans sittin' in front of me," he reported. "Gonna take 'em downstairs an' outside an' maybe find some kid who looks hungry, give 'em to someone who needs 'em. Now that I know I can grow 'em, I can start passin' 'em around, you know? Ain't no missions right now, though. I'm kinda in shit."

"That's wonderful," Rikku said, shivering. "Keep a few so you can make new plants from them. And boom! There, you fed a kid today. Dude. That's incredible. Think about that for a second."

It was. He'd fed someone who was starving. That was huge.

And then came the giggling. "What'd you do this time?"

"I was a lesbian again," Reno proudly announced, after he'd gotten his head around how awesome it was that he'd be feeding people. Which was pretty awesome, at that. "Except I didn't have you around, so instead I went and jiggled my boobs in Tseng's face."

And then a pause, while Reno reflected on the beauty of the look that had graced Tseng's normally placid expression.

It had been a look of pure horror.

"You were a lesbian again?" There was a small pout here. "And I missed it?"

Reno had been a seriously hot lesbian, okay?!

"Well, now that we know Fandom likes to send this kinda thing home with us, we'll know not to miss the next time," Reno mused.

All the more reason for him to patch things up around here faster.

She was okay with admitting this. Blushing, a little, but admitting it anyway.

It meant that Reno was a bit of a whore, maybe. But he was fine with that.

"I miss you," she said. It was unrelated to the boobs, but she'd deal. "You're coming, right? This weekend? Nothing suddenly went wrong and you're stuck there? Really?"

"Other way around," Reno laughed. "Since I went an' mortified the Director, I got two weeks off."

Without pay, yes, ssh.

"I'm goin' to Disneyland, yo."

"I can't wait," Rikku sighed. "Even though, I mean. I don't really care about Disneyland. It looked cute? But I'm really going because I want to see everyone again."
