A Small Spot on the Beach, Monday Afternoon

There had been kids. Showing up out of the blue, being bloody adorable at them with introductions and some more over breakfast. There'd been worry about two of them taking off to feed ducks, and more worry that morning about what would happen to one of them when he went back home.

But right now? Right now was all about not worrying about any of that. Right now, Reno, Rikku, Ruba, and Rede had found their way to the beach. With umbrellas of varying sizes for both the wee, and not-so-wee.

For family time.

"Bet I can make a bigger splash in that puddle than you can," Reno mused.

[For le aforementioned bits of family!]

"Let's ask your Daddy when he gets back," Rikku said cheerfully. Because she was evil like that. "And behemoths are awesome but we gotta make sure we have armor first. 'Cause they cast spells when they die and that's just cheating, isn't it?"

"It is," Ruba agreed with a giggle and a wiggle and a bounce for good measure. "And meteor is a nasty trick an' it's not fair, 'cause they're already dead, so they're not allowed to squish us."

She gave a firm nod, at that.

Meteor was a rotten icky horrible trick played right after a decent kill and any creature that cast it when it died wasn't supposed to fade away, they were supposed to stick around as a corpse so that the body could be piddled on and kicked and spat on and kicked again. Her daddy had said so.

Judging by the other words her daddy said regarding that topic, he never did get his way.

"Good thing Mommy makes armor, then, if fiends are allowed to cheat," Rikku nodded. "We'll have treasure in no time."

Now was a good time to dip her back and up again. For absolutely no reason except to hear her giggle.

The dip earned Rikku a squeal and a giggle. Because dips were just that awesome.

"Yeah! And then we can bury it in the sand and hide it from piiiiiirates and stuff, and only we'll know where it is, and then we can have cookies!"

The cookies, she'd thrown in, just in case she could get away with it.

"Maybe we keep some cookies in the treasure chests," Rikku giggled. "Except then they'd get all sandy. Ewwwwwwww."

She looked over at Reno and Rede, who looked like they were nearly finished. And tried not to panic about what they were asking of Rede. It was the only way. Wasn't it?

"I bet if we asked your dad for cookies, he'd get us some," Rikku decided on the spot.

Ruba just grinned up at her mommy knowingly.

"Of course he will," she informed her.

Because daddy was totally whipped by his little girl. A lot.
