Okay, so there'd been that dance last night. And there'd been training with Ghanima, and plenty of drinking, and then Fight Club, and now there was to be even more drinking. Because that was just how Reno rolled.

He'd kind of given up on the two-mouthful drinks that could be purchased from the minibar, and so he'd made a ~~handwavey~~ booze run earlier in the day, and he was now good and stocked up with everything from Absolut to the ingredients to slosh together a Flaming Zombie.

The name seemed fitting. Reno kinda had to, here.

Oh yeah, and there were the partners in crime.

And there was a bouncy Al Bhed girl, returning to the hallway with a mischievous grin. Less of her usual bounce, though; her arms were filled with bottles of liquor.

Look, Reno was going to have plenty, but more booze never hurt, and besides, most of the stuff Reno drank tasted like it had died, and she was a lightweight alco-pop kind of girl herself.

Unfortunately, the booze meant she couldn't open the door. Rikku stopped in front of it, trying out a few solid kicks. "I hope nobody's naaaaaaaaaaaaked," she sang out. "I can come back!"

"What, an' miss out on so many hot nude pieces of ass?"

Reno was as charming as always as he pulled the door open, leaning forward to steal a kiss before he even considered letting Rikku into the room. "C'mon in, babe."

"I don't want to interrupt," she giggled, leaning into the kiss. "I mean, if you're all nude and chanting and beating drums and so on. Male bonding rituals are serious business."

She glanced around the room, waving to the others. "Oh, man. Nobody's naked. What a letdown."

"Ain't drunk enough, yet," Reno grinned. "Maybe we'll have to play strip poker, later. I can show off my chocobo."

It was the weirdest symbol of pride ever, that chocobo tattoo.

"I don't think I'm very good at strip poker," Rikku frowned. "I mean, I don't remember what beats what, so I play all wrong and just end up naked and kinda cold."

"But naked," Reno pointed out. Helpfully. Because he was nice like that.

"If you want to get me naked, you just had to ask," she teased, leaning up for another (quick) stolen kiss. "And it's not like you need an excuse to flash your chocobo-butt."

"I don't, do I?"

Reno was taking that as a challenge.

Why was Reno taking that as a challenge? Because there had already been booze tonight, that was why.

Yes. Yes, he was reaching for his belt. Please someone, for the love of Holy, stop him.

"If you start stripping now," Rikku sighed, pretending to swoon, "I won't be able to help myself. And, I mean, that's fine and all, but it's a little early to start the orgy."

"What, you're sayin' I gotta make people earn it or somethin'?"

Reno cocked his chin upward, looking for all the world like the cat who got the cream. "Later, then."

"Is that a promise?" she purred in a low voice.

The guests had to leave sooner or later.

"You got my word as a Turk," Reno purred right back.

Because dammit, it had been a couple of weeks since they'd spent time together, and they hadn't had drunken nookie in forever.

"Or you could get naked with us," Romeo called at the door. "We wouldn't mind."

"I never say no to a little nudity," Rikku giggled. "Especially not when there are hot guys just laying around."

"Could we make this a clothes-optional party?" Romeo wondered, before pressing himself to his feet to give Rikku a hug. "I missed you."

"I missed you, too," she said, giving him a thorough squeeze. "I think this should be a clothing-discouraged party, at least. It's tomorrow you're taking off, right? Doji said you have an apartment already."

"We do, and it's within a mile of my school," Romeo confirmed. "Our portal is tomorrow just after lunch. How long do we have you in town for?"

"We're taking off tomorrow," Rikku sighed. "But soooooooomeone was asking if we couldn't detour to Tokyo for a day or two ..."

"We have a spare room and a few extra futon," Romeo said. "And we'll feed you if you help us move."

He widened his eyes. "Please?"

"I'm a sucker for a pretty face," Rikku laughed. "We can't stay long, but Tokyo was neat, and I want to see it again."

Plus, you know. Posse. It had been too long.

"Have you ever been without a mission?" Romeo wondered. "That wasn't exactly the best curcumstances."

"Just the once," Rikku smiled. "It's still so weird to me. These big cities, I mean. Spira's all ... villages, here and there, you know? This world has so many people in it. It's ridiculous."

"I think it's beautiful," Romeo said. "All of the lives, the noise, the smells ... I suppose you're just used to what you're used to."

"Reno's the city-type, too," she said with a light smile. "I love the bustle, and the energy, it's just strange for me."

She flushed to add, "Okay, and some of the smells, I could do without."

"You don't wish everything smelled exactly like rotting garbage?" Romeo joked. "I've never lived in a place smaller than Fandom. I wish you'd gotten to see Verona."
