33 Apocalypse, Tuesday Early Evening
The sun was just starting to sink through the sky, lengthening the shadows across the ground.
Through those shadows, other shadows emerged, hauling the remnants of their unsuspecting prey toward its final resting place.
Smoochy was dead.
And now he was going home.

Smoochy was finally, going home. Really, they'd had him for quite awhile now. She was just glad it hadn't been living in her closet for the past few weeks.
"How do we want to pose it?" she murmured, eyeing the head of the very dead rhino dubiously. "Sitting up, maybe?"

He set the body down on the doorstep, and motioned for her to do the same with the head.
...
"Maybe over there, though. He don't deserve to get his head back on his shoulders."

He positioned Smoochy's hands over his chest as he spoke, and then dusted his hands off on the fabric of the cloak, standing back to admire their handiwork one last time.

And reached out to carefully adjust the head's position just slightly, before digging the ears out of her cloak and oh so delicately setting them in place so that Smoochy almost appeared to be holding them.
"Perfect," she decided, bouncing to her feet. "It's so sweet."
If by 'sweet' you meant 'disturbing' and she did. A beat.
"Should we ring the doorbell and run?"
no subject
"On the count of three, zoto. One. Two. And-"
Dong-Dong~!
Time to run like hell!

It took him a moment, through the darkness, to recognize the plush rhino. When he did, he had to take a seat. Whoever had done the mutilations had clearly been a very deranged individual.
... and he was going to laugh like hell.
"I think I lost any chance of a refund, buddy," he informed the rhino.

"What the heck is that?"
no subject
Though he certainly didn't seem upset.
no subject
"I don't think it worked," he shook his head, smirking a bit.

"Want a hand with that?"

Murdock hopped off the porch and wandered around the yard for a few minutes, collecting any stray bits of purple.
"Well, gotta hand it to 'em," he said, picking up the head. "They're thorough."
no subject
He surveyed the pieces they'd brought in. "I think this looks like all of Smoochy."
no subject
"Cool," he said, putting the head with everything else. "Think you'll figure out who the culprits were?"
no subject
"I'll teach Friday with Smooch's head on my desk, see who looks at him funny."
