Room 429, Sunday Afternoon
Okay. Sunday afternoons were officially boring. The days of the week had classes and radio and reports to write for his job, and mornings and evenings meant that the ferret was awake and totally willing to be harassed, but Sunday afternoons?
Reno would like to vote that boring, lazy Sunday afternoons be stricken from the record.
He was in his room, sitting by the window and playing with his lighter. Fire go on. Fire blow out. Ooh. Exciting.
The door was open slightly in case something interesting happened to wander through the hallway, at least.
[Open, like the door~]

The freaking cute random cat and damn it, he wasn't a cat person anyhow.
Okay. Okay. Reno seemed to have been invaded by a cute thing. This was alright. He was going to just give it little scratches behind its ears and let it snuggle at him however it wanted, while Mako bounced around in his cage trying to figure out what the heck was going on out there. And that would leave Reno able to figure out how to get the cat back to wherever it belonged. Theoretically.
Thinking was difficult when one was being purred at and headbumped.
So he would take a seat on his bed. Like so. And maybe put the kitten down on his bed. Like so. And wiggle his fingers at it. To help the thinking process, of course.

It should be noted that Yei’s favourite person depended heavily on who was petting her at the moment.
Thinking was okay, if you had to do it, but really fingers were much more exciting and she pounced enthusiastically, if not altogether accurately at them. Was that helping him think? She could be helpful! Watch her pounce again!

No, really, she wasn't. Which was why Reno was able to continue wiggling his fingers at her. Cat. Being cute. It was mandatory.
Mako was getting excited over in his cage, now, honking and bouncing. There was playing happening up there, wasn't there? He could hear it. Hey! Hey! What was going oooon?
So much cute in one room was probably going to end up making Reno rupture something. Which was, of course, why he had to encourage it by pulling out the ferret and setting it on the bed so he could see what was going on.
Hiiiiiiiiii!

It didn’t look much like a cat really. Yei was still purring but rather dubious about the lack of catness this one had. Maybe it was like Prince Oscar? A very unfortunate cat indeed, but very sweet.
Hihihi!
Well, she’d wanted adventure. This was exciting!

Mako, of course, was delighted, and bouncing, and honking out his joy for the world to hear.
Hiiiiii hello what kinda ferret are you you smell like Petey but you aren't are you you're fluffier and white and stuff and hiiiiii!
It was amazing the things that could be communicated with a few sniffs, a bounce, a honk, and an affectionate attempt at chewing on the fuzzy's nose.

Petey? Not Petey, Yei! Another wriggle and a roll full of kitten grace (read: tumbling limbs and fur) and a mew. Not a ferret either. Silly!

A study in the grace and beauty of the animal kingdom, really.
Yay it's Yei! I'm Makodumbass! Hi! Mako wriggled over and plopped himself down beside the not-Petey, sniffing again.
Reno's pet names were, at times, misleading. Unfortunately.

Hihihi! Are you nice? You seem nice! Nice was, after all, Very Very Important.
So was grooming, and Yei attempted to so to his face. It was only polite really, the licking.

Which was a relief to Reno, who had been ready to dive in and rescue one pet or the other when they had started rolling around.
Mako closed his wee little eyes and wiggled and squirmed. Yeis were fun.
"You two are the weirdest freakin' critters ever," Reno decided, making a reach for the ferret treats again. Ah, critters.
no subject
And purring. A lot.
That would be when Hinata tapped lightly on the open door and peeked inside. “R-Reno-san have y-you seen…”
She took in the kitten-ferret pile on the bed. “Yei.” That came out amused, really.

Mako honked. That was totally a reference to him, wasn't it? Hiiiii!

"A-And you as w-well," she noted, smiling and cautiously stepping into the room. "Y-Yei would hardly i-ignore someone n-new and exciting. And M-Mako too, of c-course."
no subject
Mako, too, was comfortable. Today was full of daylight-things and he had done a lot of bouncing. He was ready to snuggle into the purring Yei and settle in for a nap. Daylight was snoozy time.
no subject
Yei, for her part, was all about the snuggling and the sleeping and yawned a kitty yawn and put her head down.

"War tactics, some kinda lit course, and that chem class. Made soap on friday. Wasn't really expectin' that so much, but at least the teacher seems cool." There was a pause, and then a but of a softer smile. "Good to hear you're gettin' out and meetin' people, though. It'd be a cryin' shame if a nice kid like you wasn't out gettin' friends or whatever."

Mako had started snoring. Snoring ferret. Reno was going to ignore it. Because if he didn't, then he'd totally be busted for being all 'awwww' at the pet-snuggle-pile.
no subject
"I t-think so," she admitted. "T-Though my f-father would r-rather more."
no subject
And, you know, of making people like Reno go 'awwww, kitty.'
